Replacement Quick-Guide
If you are planning to fix the charging problem yourself, the procedure generally follows these steps:
- Turn off the phone and remove the SIM card tray.
- Gently apply controlled heat to soften the adhesive holding the back cover.
- Carefully separate the rear back housing using an opening pick.
- Unscrew and remove the lower protective plastic speaker shield.
- Disconnect the main ribbon flex connector and the coaxial antenna cable from the old board.
- Swap in the new sub-board, reattach the cables, and test the charging before gluing the phone shut.
