Port Configuration Setup
To use the multimeter correctly and safely, you must plug the test leads into the proper terminal ports located at the bottom of the device:
- Black Lead: Always plug this probe into the COM (Common) terminal port.
- Red Lead (Standard Measurements): Plug this probe into the VΩ port for testing voltage, resistance, frequency, continuity, and diodes.
- Red Lead (Low Current): Plug this probe into the mA port to measure low currents up to 200mA.
- Red Lead (High Current): Plug this probe into the 20A port for measuring large currents up to 20A.
Safety Instructions
- Never overload the inputs: Do not exceed the maximum limits indicated on the face of the meter for each range.
- Discharge capacitors: Always discharge high-voltage capacitors completely before measuring their capacitance to prevent severe shock or damage to the device.
- Isolate resistance tests: Ensure the target circuit is fully powered down before probing for resistance or continuity.
- Switch modes safely: Always remove the probes from the circuit before turning the central rotary dial to change testing modes.
