Standard Replacement Steps
If you plan on repairing the device yourself or bringing it to a technician, the general disassembly steps include:
- Power Off: Shut down the device fully before attempting any internal hardware changes.
- Remove Back Cover: Apply mild heat to soften the adhesive around the back glass, and use a suction cup and thin opening card to slice open the back cover.
- Disconnect Components: Carefully unscrew the protection brackets, disconnect the battery flex cable, and safely detach the fingerprint sensor connector.
- Access Bottom Section: Unscrew the lower loudspeaker/ringer module to expose the sub-board containing the charging port.
- Swap the Flex: Disconnect the main ribbon cable and antenna wire from the old charging board, lift it out, and drop the new charging flex in its place.
