Core Replacement Symptoms
You likely need to swap out this sub-board if your device exhibits any of these faults:
- Device fails to accept charge unless the charging cable is bent or held tightly at a certain angle.
- The phone connects and disconnects rapidly when plugged into a functional wall brick.
- People cannot hear you during calls due to a damaged microphone built directly onto this board.
- Weak or completely missing cellular signals despite being in a high-coverage area, as the antenna contact pads live on this flex board.
Basic Steps for Replacement
If you or a technician are replacing the module, keep these structural steps in mind:
- Remove the SIM tray and gently unclip the plastic back cover using a pry tool.
- Unscrew the lower speaker housing matrix shield to expose the lower charging dock area.
- Disconnect the main ribbon flex cable and the small coaxial antenna wire running to the top logic board.
- Lift out the old board and swap it with the replacement piece. Reassemble in reverse order.
