Important Components Checklist
When ordering, make sure you understand which specific piece of the phone you need, as “flex” can refer to two different internal parts:
- The Charging Port PCB Board: This is the small sub-board at the bottom of the device containing the physical Type-C port, the primary microphone, and cellular antenna contacts.
- The Motherboard Main Flex: This is the long, flat ribbon cable that bridges the bottom charging sub-board back up to the main logic board at the top of the phone.
Quick Repair & Installation Tips
- Test First: Before adhering the new component down, plug it into the main board and insert a charger to verify it draws current and fast charges normally.
- Avoid Sharp Bends: Ribbon cables are fragile; pressing down too hard or making sharp creases can fracture the microscopic copper traces inside.
- Static Protection: Use a grounding wrist strap or periodically touch grounded metal to prevent static electricity from destroying the sub-board components.
