How the Dual-Action Paste Works
- De-Oxidization: Acidic components in the paste dissolve the tough black rust and oxide layer blocking the heat.
- Re-Tinning: Embedded tin powder melts and bonds to the copper core, giving you a fresh, shiny tip that makes solder stick easily again.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Heat the Iron: Turn on your soldering station and set the temperature between 300°C and 360°C.
- Pre-Clean: Wipe off any excess loose tin or debris using a brass wire ball or a wet cleaning sponge.
- Dip the Tip: Thrust the hot soldering iron tip directly into the Mechanic N3 paste for a few seconds. You will see it bubble slightly as it cleans.
- Apply New Solder: Immediately melt fresh solder wire onto the tip to coat it fully.
- Repeat if Needed: If the tip is severely burnt and does not look perfectly shiny, wipe it clean and repeat the dip-and-tin steps
